Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) The root (from latin valere which means "to be well") contains an essential oil and valepotriates (valtrate and isovaltrate) which both have a very effective and gently sedative action. Valerian is used with with great success for insomnia, anxiety and anguish, but without causing any addiction or drowsiness during the day.

270 mg/capsule of total plant cryoground powder, 0.5% of essential oil
Root contains an essential oil and valepotriates - both have a very effective & gentle sedative effect
Anti-convulsant & anti-epileptic.
Recommended dosage:
INSOMNIA - One capsule in the evenings before meals & two capsules before going to bed.
NERVOUSNESS - Take one capsule mornings, noon & evenings, during meals.
CHILDREN – Take one capsule in the evenings & one capsule before going to bed.
Contraindications: Not recommended for patients with liver impairment or on other medication known to have potential for liver in-toxicity or induction of liver enzymes. Not recommended during pregnancy.
Valerian is not to be used whilst on sedative medication or other prescribed drugs which affect the central nervous system.
Unlike prescribed tranquillizers, valerian does not cause dangerous effects if taken with alcohol.
