·        Calendula / Marigold flowers - Calendula has been used to treat a variety of skin disorders, ranging from skin ulcerations to eczema. It has also been used to sooth stomach ulcers, varicose veins and inflammation. Today Calendula is still used by many for the medicinal and health related effects it offers. Flavonoids, found in high amounts in calendula, are thought to account for much of its anti-inflammatory activity as well as medicinal effects. Triterpene and caretonoids are two other constituents of calendula that may play an important role in the herbs medicinal applications. More recently scientists have investigated calendula for possible anticancer and antiviral actions this herb may possess. However, there is not enough evidence at this time to recommend calendula for any type of treatment related to these conditions. ·        Cabbage -  Much research has focused on the beneficial phytochemicals in cabbage, particularly its indole-3-carbinole (I3C), sulforaphane, and indoles. These two compounds help activate and stabilize the body's antioxidant and detoxification mechanisms that dismantle and eliminate cancer-producing substances. Raw cabbage juice is also well documented as being remarkably effective in treating peptic ulcers.

·        Carrots-are an excellent source of antioxidant compounds, and the richest vegetable source of the pro-vitamin A carotenes. Carrots' antioxidant compounds help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer and also promote good vision, especially night vision.

·        Cauliflower leaf - Although cauliflower leaves are by-products of cauliflower cultivation, they may be used as a source of natural antioxidants

·        Chantui (Chinese herb) - The highest anti-oxidant levels have been measured in plants traditionally used for medicinal purposes. Chinese medicinal herbs have been used for centuries to alleviate or cure many diseases. Zhang et al (Zhang, Chen et al, 2003) analysed anti-oxidant levels in 108 Chinese medicinal herbs. Over half of the herbs tested contained levels in excess of 10ng/g and some herbs contained levels in the µg/g range. Of particular interest was that many of the herbs containing the highest anti-oxidant levels are traditionally used to treat diseases associated with free radicals

Instructions and Contra-indications

Whichever variety you have, take just one capsule into the mouth, and swallow with a small amount of water just before bedtime. For faster assimilation break open the capsule gently and add to a teaspoon or two of water, then take the liquid under the tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing. Children under 12 should take only ½  capsule. Not for infants under 12 months. Do not consume if about to drive or operate machinery. Pregnant women should consult their physician before taking.
