Most of the ‘medicinal’ mushrooms have the ability to enhance immune function by stimulating cell-mediated immunity, or, in simple terms
these mushrooms seem to switch-on the cells of our immune system, called T-cells, which have significant cancer-fighting properties. Japanese scientists believe that the Maitake mushroom could be one of the most potent of all medicinal mushrooms studied!
Please note that all our liquid extracts contain organic vodka.
1ml extract is equivalent to 10g fresh mushroom / 1g dried mushroom, approximately.
The Maitake mushroom is host to a powerful beta-glucan (1,6) called Maitake D-Fraction. The D-fraction is extracted in hot water and its application in water-based liquid extracts has had some quite remarkable results in treating a wide variety of viruses, allergies and cancers.
The table below, extracted from “Maitake King of Mushrooms” by Dr Shari Lieberman (New York), describes the increased activation of natural killer cells by Maitake when taken orally: Activity of natural killer cells and cytotoxic T-cells was increased from between 1.5 to 3 times and the production of interleukins-1, which activates T-cells was also increased.
