Trametes versicolor
In Japan this mushroom is known as Kawaratake - "mushroom by the riverbank". In China it is called Yun-zhi, which means "cloud fungus.
Fruiting Bodies is the first company in the UK to grow these mushrooms commercially to organic standards.
Trials using sawdust blocks produced very poor weight/substrate yields, and were abandoned in preference for the more traditional system of log-growing, which relies on a continuous supply of small-diameter hardwood, preferably coppiced hazel, birch and willow, which we cut during the winter months and prepare in spring.
Trametes versicolor is host to two very powerful compounds called PSK and PSP. The compounds have and are being used to treat many forms of cancer with encouraging results. We have provided a detailed reference list and a report by Dr. Parris. M. Kidd on the current state of research concerning mushrooms and cancer treatment. We would suggest that your detailed enquiries specific to cancer are made to TCM qualified practitioners.
Please note that all our liquid extracts contain organic vodka.
1ml extract is equivalent to 10g fresh mushroom / 1g dried mushroom, approximately.
