Vitamin C is an unstable water-soluble vitamin which is present in the physiologies of almost all plants and animals. Humans and other primates cannot produce their own bodily supply of vitamin C and consequently require an intake via the diet.
Bio-C-Vitamin has a great deal of functions in the body, many of which are still not totally understood. Vitamin C carries out most of its functions as an antioxidant which means it is an effective neutraliser of free radicals, destructive, highly reactive molecules, that are thought to be the basis of many diseases.

Vitamin C has been used to treat a variety of disorders. Its primary use is in helping to fight infections and maintain general well-being. Vitamin C has also been shown to be effective in the management of osteoarthritis, allergies, anaemia and wound healing. Bio-C-Vitamin is also important for the healing of stomach ulcers as it is in a non-acidic form.

Taking one tablet of Bio-C-Vitamin (equivalent to 750 mg ascorbic acid) per day is recommended for general well-being and two tablets (equivalent to 1500 mg) per day have been shown to give a therapeutic benefit.

There are many vitamin C preparations on the market, however, Bio-C-Vitamin is specially designed to withstand stomach acidity in order to ensure optimum absorption in the small intestine. Many other preparations lose effectiveness when passing through the stomach. Bio-C-Vitamin is also in a buffered non-acidic form.

There are many scientific papers that show the beneficial effects of vitamin C, particularly in controlling infection and wound healing. There are no known drug interactions or contra-indications for vitamin C.
