Bio-Glandin 25 is a capsule containing borage oil (also known as Starflower oil). Borage Oil is a rich source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). GLA is an essential omega-6 (may also be referred to as n-6) fatty acid. GLA is also found in cell membranes where it acts as an essential component of prostaglandin E1. This is a hormone type substance that is associated with immune response.
Studies have shown that GLA has a positive effect on those who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, atopic dermatitis and those who suffer from PMS (Pre-Menstrual syndrome) and mastodynia (breast pain). Those who suffer from allergies may also benefit from this supplement.
It is recommended that you take 1-2 capsules daily for general well-being.
Bio-Glandin 25 is called so because it contains 25% GLA. Other products available on the market may only contain as little as 8% GLA. Bio-Glandin 25 has been specifically developed to provide our customers with a product that contains a maximal content of active substance and minimal total fat.
There are no known interactions with other forms of medicament.
There has been recent evidence to suggest that it is beneficial to obtain a balance between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (Omega-3 fatty acids are found in Bio-Fish Oil/ Bio-Marine Plus and omega-6 fatty acids are found in Bio-Glandin–25).
A multi vitamin and mineral supplement may be beneficial such as Bio-Antioxidant, which contains other important prostaglandin precursing components.
