Description
Caraway essential oil is extracted by distillation from the seeds, which are a familiar food spice. The herbal remedy was traditionally used for colic (especially in children) and the use of the seeds in breads, cheeses, etc. promotes its digestive properties. Caraway is also anti-septic and is a common ingredient in toothpastes and mouthwashes. The German liqueur Kummel is also made from the seeds. Caraway essential oil has a strong, sweet aroma which makes a deliciously warming bath – try blending 3 drops of Caraway with 2 drops of Jasmine in 10ml of Coconut oil. Add to warm bathwater for a reviving yet relaxing pre-dinner soak.
