A formulation providing a well tolerated source of selenium and other nutrients. Prepared solely from pure, high-mineral kelp. Contains traces of selenium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, copper, silicon, zinc, manganese, vanadium, cobalt and boron, provided by the kelp. Originally formulated for persons who are initially unable to tolerate Selenium Solution.

WHY SUPPORT WITH SUPPLEMENTS?

Selenium is a mineral found in soil, water and some foods. Selenium deficiency can occur in areas were soil content of selenium is low, and may affect thyroid function and cause conditions like Keshan disease. Gastrointestinal disorders (like irritable bowel syndrome) may decrease the body’s ability to absorb selenium. Selenium may be destroyed when foods are refined or processed.

Specific dietary sources of selenium include brewer’s yeast, wheat germ, butter, garlic, grains, sunflower seeds, Brazil nuts, walnuts, raisins, liver, kidney, shellfish (lobster, oyster, shrimp, scallops), and fresh-water and salt-water fish (red snapper, salmon, swordfish, tuna, mackerel, halibut, flounder, herring, smelts). Selenium is also found in alfalfa, burdock root, catnip, fennel seed, ginseng, raspberry leaf, radish, horseradish, onion, chives, medicinal mushrooms (reishi, shiitake), and yarrow.

SUPPORTIVE RECOMMENDATIONS

Avoid obvious sources of pollution, toxins and fumes. Air your house. Consume whole, fresh foods, and minimise all forms of refined sugar and carbohydrates and processed foods. Drink adequate quantities of filtered water.

CAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not exceed 400 micrograms of selenium per day from all sources.

Keep in a cool, dry place, tightly capped and stored out of reach of children.

Directions for use

As a food supplement, 1 capsule daily with a meal.
