Description
Thorne Research Medibulk provides important soluble fibre and contains psyllium, pectin and prune powder. Soluble fibre and other undigested carbohydrates are utilised by colonic bacteria to create short chain fatty acids. These in turn are used by colonic mucosal cells as fuel, this lowers colonic pH and shortens transit time in the gastrointestinal tract which enhances detoxification, so reducing the toxic burden on the liver. The anaerobic fermentation of the non-starch polysaccharides in psyllium results in production of the short chain fatty acid butyric acid, the preferred fuel for coloncytes providing support for a healthy colon.
Soluble fibre naturally supports the metabolism of cholesterol and maintaining already healthy blood sugar levels.
