Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein found in human and bovine milk. It also occurs in tars and saliva. It plays many roles in the body including enhancing the absorption of iron from the diet for those with iron deficiency. It also plays a role in the immune and inflammatory responses in the body. It also provides important antioxidants that are needed for wellness. AOR Lactoferrin is from a dairy source but is lactose free with little to no casein. Those with dairy allergies should contact their health professional before using this product.
