Description
Galbanum Oil (Wild)
Botanical Name: Ferula Galbaniflua Boiss Origin: Iran Extraction: The essential oil distilled from the gum of the sap of these large umbelliferous plants, which dries in contact with air. Comments: Sourced in northern Iran, it should not be confused with F. Rubriacaulis from southern Iran, or F. Ceratophylla from Turkestan, both of which are inferior species. The gum is usually exported to Europe for processing into resinoid/oil, mainly because the equipment and production methods are far superior. |
