Description
Cajuput Oil (Wild)
Botanical Name: Melaleuca Cajeputi Origin: Indonesia Extraction: Essential oil is distilled from the fresh leaves and twigs. Note: Possible skin irritant in high concentration – do not apply neat to the skin. Not suitable for infants. Comments: The tree is extraordinarily resistant to extremes of climate and diseases so flourishes where other plant life cannot. It takes approximately 60-70 kg of leaves and twigs to make 1 kg of essential oil. Although a member of the Tea tree family, its synonyms White Tea tree or Swamp Tea tree are potentially confusing. Tea tree should never have a cineol content above 5% or 6%, whereas the minimum cineol content of Cajuput is 50%. |
